The structure and liveliness of a wine from Piedmont

The estate

It was in the 1960s that Bruno and Marcello Ceretto took over the management of the eponymous estate created in 1930 by their father, Riccardo, in Alba in Piedmont.

Following a trip to Burgundy, the two brothers wanted to quickly develop the estate and produce "crus" within this exceptional terroir of Italy, a real revolution in a terroir where the notion of cru was hitherto non-existent.
The selection is rigorous among the best vineyards of great Italian red wines, in Barolo and Barbaresco to produce high quality Langhe.

Respect for tradition, terroir and being open to innovations are the key words of the philosophy of the Piedmontese estate. Between 1969 and 1982, four cellars were created and production was expanded to include Moscato and a white wine.
Since the 1990s, the children of Bruno and Marcello Ceretto have joined the estate and perpetuate the tradition of this 160-hectare estate spread over 4 cellars and producing 17 different wines.

The vineyard

This Barolo Bricco Rocche from the Cerreto estate comes from the smallest vineyard of the appellation (1.46 hectare), exclusive property of the Cerreto Family. This terroir is the most prestigious of what was once called La Serra, on the heights of the town of Castiglione Falletto. Located at an altitude of 350 to 370 meters and facing southeast/southwest, this exceptional Barolo vineyard is mainly composed of sand, silt and clay.

The wine

The first vintage of the Bricco Rocche from the Ceretto estate dates back to 1982.
