Unique Château located in the city of Bordeaux, the magnificent Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion is today at the top of the appellation's greatest growths Pessac-Léognan. Thanks to the passion and commitment of its current owners, the couple Patrice and Diane Pichet, Les Carmes Haut-Brion has distinguished itself by the constant qualitative excellence of its vintages.

With an exceptional terroir benefiting from a privileged and enclosed location, the vineyard of Château Les Carmes Haut-Brion has been spared the torments caused by the frost episodes at the end of April 2017. Volume and quality, with half of the grapes harvested in whole bunches, all the conditions were met to produce a great vintage.

With vinifications orchestrated by the talented Guillaume Pouthier, advised by the renowned consultant oenologist Stéphane Derenoncourt, the identity of this exceptional terroir is revealed in a sublime expression of purity and intensity.

Les Carmes Haut-Brion 2017 shows its singularity by its dominant of Cabernet Franc (41%) in blend, supplemented by Cabernet Sauvignon (29%) and Merlot (30%).

Harmonious and powerful, the nose discovers the brilliance of perfectly ripe fruit while with aeration, the vintage discovers the depth of its bouquet on the delicacy of floral scents punctuated with minerality reminiscent of graphite and the tip of a pencil. The slightly mentholated freshness of the attack in the mouth gives way to a delicious suave and dense substance, which wraps the palate in a succession of tasty sensations discovering the structure of sumptuous tannins. Long and slender, the finish stretches in a pure trail with shimmering saline minerality. An impressive Pessac-Léognan, a must for this 2017 vintage.
