Description
The typicity of a Médoc red wine
The estate
Owned by Bernard Magrez, the Château Les Grands Chênes is located in the Médoc, in Saint-Christoly du Médoc, on the left bank of Bordeaux. The vineyard of the estate was built around a fortress dating from the 16th century.
The vineyard
The Château Les Grands Chênes 2023 is a Médoc wine from a 46-hectare vineyard in the village of Saint-Christoly Médoc. With an average age of 41 years, the vines are planted on Garonne gravel soils.
The vintage
A classic winter is followed by a warm and dry spring, then a summer without excessive heat, punctuated by stormy episodes.
Vinification and ageing
Parcel harvests. Manual sorting of berries on a vibrating table. Custom vinification by batch. Ageing in barrels and jars.
Blend
This Château Les Grands Chênes 2023 is the result of the blend of Merlot (60%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (40%).
