The estate
Since 1616 Château Marquis d’Alesme has reigned over an exceptional terroir in Margaux in the heart of the Bordeaux region. Both exotic and classic, Château Marquis d'Alesme is a property representing a great culture and passion for winemaking.

The vineyard
Château Marquis d'Alesme cultivates a 15-hectare vineyard plot by plot. The vineyard, like a garden, is managed with the utmost care through the craftsmanship of the Château Marquis d'Alesme team. The vines are planted in clay-limestone, gravelly siliceous and clayey soils.

The vintage
The weather conditions of 2019 were quite mixed and produced a great vintage. The beginning of the growing cycle was quite serene, followed by favourable summer conditions and light rain in September, which perfected the ripeness of the fruit.

The ageing
50% new French oak barrels.

The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (57%), merlot (37%), petit verdot (6%).

The tasting
Tasted en primeur, the Château Marquis d´Alesme 2019 presents a superbly deep colour. This wine is very precise, with vibrant fruit and a silky texture on the palate. Endowed with a great elegance, the palate is perfectly balanced. A superb vintage ending in -9 at this essential reference of Margaux.
