Description
The freshness and richness of a Sauternes wine
The estate
Château Suduiraut, Premier Cru Classé in 1855 in AOC Sauternes, resides over a promised land of 92 hectares devoted to vines. Adjacent to the vineyards of Château d'Yquem, Château Suduiraut is a 17th century estate, where the gardens were designed by André Le Nôtre.
The vineyard
Château Suduiraut 2013 is a Sauternes wine that stems from a vineyard planted on a sandy-clay gravel soil. This filtering and thin soil pushes the vine to draw deeply from its terroir, thus reinforcing its character in the wines.
The vintage
The year 2013 had a particularly unstable climate. The cool weather and heavy rainfall at the beginning of the growth cycle led to a delay in the vine growth, significant mildew pressure and run-off during flowering. From July onwards, the hot and dry conditions advanced a good ripening of the grapes which, at harvest time, had high concentration and quality.
Winemaking and ageing
Ageing for 20 months in barrels (of which 45% were new and 55% were of one wine).
Blend
Sémillon (93%).
Sauvignon Blanc (7%)

Colour
La robe est d’une belle couleur or vert. The wine is of a beautiful golden green colour.
Nose
The nose is powerful, releasing exotic fruit (mango), woody and spicy scents with a touch of verbena.
Palate
A rich attack gives way to a creamy and delicious body. Scents like pineapple, star fruit and milk caramel mingle harmoniously with a smooth tension until a fresh finish characterised by mandarin and white pepper aromas.
