A white wine from Corse Figari which expresses all of the nuances of Vermentino
The estate
In 1993, the passionate and visionary Yves Canarelli took over a vineyard near Figari, which lies at the south of Corsica. A proponent of local grape varieties, he restructured and expanded this terroir until it reached 28 hectares of vines which count as one of the most beautiful references in Corsican wines.
The vineyard
The Clos Canarelli vineyard is certified Organic Framing since 2002 and in biodynamism since 2006. Clos Canarelli wines are vinified in modern facilities and recognised for their precision as well as their authentic expression of their terroir of origin.
The wine
Produced in the Corse Figari wine appellation, the Amphora 2017 by Clos Canarelli reveals all of the authenticity of the Vermentino grape variety, cultivated in the south of Corsica.
Winemaking and ageing
After pressing the musts in amphorae (2/3) and macerating the whole seeds (1/3), the grapes are trampled upon. Maceration then takes place for 4 to 8 weeks. Vinification is carried out in clay amphorae without adding any sulphur and punching down twice a day. This great Corsican white wine is aged for 3 months in amphorae and 3 months in 6-year-old barrels before being bottled, without fining, filtration or adding any sulphites.
