Tasting
On the palate, this riesling offers a beautiful balance between amplitude and mineral tension. The structure is supported by a saline signature characteristic of the granitic terroir, extending to a long and persistent finish.
Food and wine pairings
This Alsace Grand Cru pairs perfectly with spicy pike dumplings, an old Comté soufflé, or a langoustine curry.
A remarkable Alsace Grand Cru Riesling
The property
Perched on the heights of Niedermorschwihr, Jean Boxler confirms, vintage after vintage, his status as an exceptional winemaker. Demanding and precise, he enhances the Grand Cru Sommerberg, a granitic circus with vertiginous slopes that make vineyard work as arduous as it is fascinating. The Albert Boxler estate cultivates 4 hectares there, as well as 1.9 hectares in the prestigious Grand Cru Brand.
The vineyard
The Grand Cru Brand, one of the jewels of the Albert Boxler estate, is characterized by its granitic soils which give the wines a saline signature and a vibrant minerality. This exceptional terroir, located on the heights of Turckheim in Alsace, benefits from an ideal exposure allowing optimal maturation of the riesling while preserving its characteristic freshness.
Vinification and aging
The Riesling Grand Cru "Brand" 2013 from Albert Boxler is made according to the traditional methods of the estate. The grapes are vinified with indigenous yeasts, thus respecting the natural expression of the terroir. The aging takes place in old casks, allowing a slow and harmonious evolution of the wine while preserving the purity of the aromas.
