Luberon Wines : Key Points

Luberon is an appellation of the Rhône Valley created in 1988. It covers more than 3,300 hectares shared between 36 communes. The vines of the Luberon appellation enjoy a Mediterranean climate with a very high annual sunshine level and are located at an altitude of between 200 and 450 metres, with soils made up of Miocene sands, limestone scree and clay. The Luberon appellation produces red wines (Syrah, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Cinsault), rosé wines (Syrah, Grenache Noir, Mourvèdre, Cinsault) and white wines (Grenache Blanc, Clairette, Vermentino, Bourboulenc, Roussanne, Marsanne, Ugni Blanc, Viognier). The reds develop fragrances of blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry and combine roundness, fruitiness and a gourmet taste. The rosé wines of the Luberon appellation have delicious hints of red and exotic fruits. The whites give off scents of citrus fruit, yellow fruit, honey and toast and are lively and elegant.
