Description
The intensity of a floral and mineral Pouilly-Fuissé wine
The estate
A historical reference of southern Burgundy, the Château Fuissé has belonged to the Vincent family for 5 generations. Since 2003, Antoine Vincent, oenologist, has been managing the family estate.
The vineyard
Overseeing an exceptional vineyard, this Burgundy estate spans nearly 40 hectares in southern Burgundy and across 5 appellations, including 25 hectares in the Pouilly-Fuissé appellation. Located at the southern end of the "Côte de Fuissé", the "Les Combettes" plot of Château-Fuissé covers 1.3 hectares in a small valley. This climate is characterized by the presence of well-drained stony and limestone soils.
Vinification and aging
This Pouilly-Fuissé wine undergoes vinification in oak barrels aged 3 to 5 years.
Blend
Chardonnay (100%).
Characteristics and tasting advice for the 2020 Pouilly-Fuissé Village "Les Combettes" from Château Fuissé
Tasting
Color
Crystal clear white gold color, shimmering with slight green reflections.
Nose
Intensely marked by floral notes, the bouquet also reveals notes of white fruits while elegantly expressing the minerality of the Bajocian limestone.
Palate
Following the same register as the aromatic palette, the palate unfolds floral notes followed by dry fruit notes evoking hazelnut, brioche and subtle notes of salted butter. With intensity and finesse, the finish lingers for a long time.
