The property
For nearly six centuries, the Château La Croix de Gay has been overseeing an exceptional terroir in Pomerol. The Raynaud-Lebreton family, who currently run the estate, come from a line of winemakers dating back to 1772, established in the Pomerol commune since 1447.

The vineyard
On the right bank of Bordeaux, Château La Croix de Gay enjoys an exceptional location with a 4.20-hectare vineyard spread over exceptional terroirs, subdivided into two groups of plots. Thus, we find the very great terroir of the high terrace of Pomerol, made up of gravels dating from the Günz and representing the heart of the Château La Croix de Gay wine blend. The other terroir of the Château is made up of Mindelian gravels. The subsoils are made up of ferruginous clays.

From these two exceptional terroirs are born wines elevated to the rank of true Pomerol icons. The crus of Château La Croix de Gay indeed stand out for their finesse and their unique aromatic signature, presenting delicate floral aromas of violet, evolving over time to truffle.

Vinification and aging
Aging for 18 months in new barrels (60%), and barrels of one wine (40%).

Blend
This Château La Croix de Gay 2018 is the result of a blend of merlot (93%) complemented by cabernet franc (7%).
