The estate

Established since 1995 in the heart of the Pic Saint Loup appellation, Clos Marie has established itself as one of the emblematic estates of Languedoc. At the origin of this wine adventure, Françoise Julien and her husband Christophe Peyrus, a passionate winemaker, have managed to revive a family vineyard. The name of the estate pays a touching tribute to Françoise's grandmother, Marie, who cultivated a few vines whose grapes supplied the local cooperative.

Driven by an ambitious vision, the couple then undertakes a deep restructuring of the estate, with the desire to express all the richness of the Languedoc terroirs through characterful cuvées. Today, Clos Marie oversees a vineyard of nearly 22 hectares, cultivated with respect for nature and balance.

The vineyard

The Simon cuvée comes from vines located mid-slope, rooted in clay-limestone soils, typical of the Pic Saint Loup. This high-altitude terroir, both complex and generous, promotes optimal maturity of the grapes while preserving freshness and tension.

The blend

This Simon 2021 from Clos Marie is the result of a blend of grenache, syrah and mourvèdre.
