Description

A lively and delicate white wine from Châteauneuf-du-Pape

The estate

Committed to artisanal viticulture that respects the terroir and the environment, the Perrin Family has become over the vintages an essential reference among the great wines of the Rhône Valley. Pioneering in the innovative approach to organic farming as early as 1950 and then biodynamic in 1974, the Perrin Family produces great wines recognized beyond borders for their quality and refinement.

The wine

A rare cuvée, Les Sinards from the Perrin Family is a Châteauneuf-du-Pape white wine from a 2.5-hectare vineyard neighboring the terroir dedicated to the production of Sinards red. Resting on soils composed of alpine diluvium deposits, pebbles and clay, this vineyard is made up of several grape varieties such as clairette, white grenache or roussanne.

The vintage

After a mild winter, a dry spring and a hot summer, the grapes benefited from ideal maturation. The harvest, which began on August 22 under radiant weather, took place in excellent sanitary conditions, despite the need for rapid work to preserve the freshness of the juices, especially for the rosés. Concluded on October 4, they gave birth to balanced wines, combining richness, power and freshness. A promising vintage.

Vinification and aging

Upon their arrival at the winery, the grapes are pneumatically pressed. The must is cooled and settled cold, without addition. Each grape variety is vinified separately. After the start of fermentation in the tank, the must is barreled in half-muids from the first day. Regular stirring brings roundness and structure, especially to the Clairette, a delicate grape variety. After several months in barrels, the wines are lightly fined before bottling.
