The creaminess and elegance of a Gevrey-Chambertin wine
The property
Founded in 1797, the house Louis Latour is today represented by the 11th generation with Louis-Fabrice Latour at its head. Wine merchant and grower, the Louis Latour house owns the largest domain of Grands Crus in Burgundy.
The vineyard
Named Gevrey-en-Montagne until 1847, Gevrey-Chambertin is a village in the Côtes de Nuits located about ten kilometers from Dijon. The 30-year-old vineyards on average, planted on shallow brown-red clay-limestone soils, give birth to a great wine from Gevrey-Chambertin.
Vinification and aging
Once the manual harvest is done, the fermentation is carried out traditionally in open vats with 100% malolactic fermentation. The aging of 10 to 12 months is carried out in French oak barrels (including 20% new barrels) from the cooperage of the Louis Latour house.
Blend
Pinot noir (100%).
