A true emblem of the Saint-Julien appellation, Château Léoville Barton represents the quintessence of the Médoc region through wines that shine bright with great consistency and class, guaranteed to satisfy even the most demanding Bordeaux lovers.
This 2nd Grand Cru Classé (Second Classified Growth) of 1855 reflects the passion of the Barton family who have devoted themselves fully to this property, making it one of the flagships of the Left Bank and of the Saint-Julien appellation.
In line with the saying that the greatest terroirs overlook water, Château Léoville Barton presides over a 50 hectare vineyard located in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde River. The vines are planted in a soil of gravelly clay. The grape varieties planted in their vineyard reflect the typical Médoc style with mostly Cabernet Sauvignon (74%), complemented by 23% Merlot and 3% Cabernet Franc.
From its vineyard to the winery, Château Léoville-Barton shows off a tremendous winemaking excellence, a traditional know-how blended with just the right dose of innovative and modern technology, to achieve a contemporary style.
Both the Grand Vin (First Wine) of the property, the namesake Château Léoville Barton, and the Second Wine, La Réserve de Léoville Barton, offer one of the best tasting experiences of the Saint-Julien appellation.
Forever demonstrating a level of refinement required of every Grand Cru, the wines of Château Léoville Barton reveal a signature style in the glass: a subtle blend of elegance and perfectly restrained power. Léoville Barton truly represents the nobility of the Medoc wine region in its purest form.
