Description
The sweetness and balance of the first African and Caribbean rum
Equiano, the meeting of two continents
The story of Equiano is a journey across continents, uniting two distinct worlds. Originally, it is the fruit of a collaboration between two renowned distilleries: Gray's distillery from Mauritius, the pearl of Africa, and Foursquare distillery, emblem of the Caribbean Barbados. This alliance gave birth to the first African and Caribbean rum, a remarkable feat in the world of spirits. The authenticity of Equiano lies in its 100% natural production: no spices, no additives, not an ounce of added sugar.
Equiano, a cuvée in tribute to a legend
Equiano is much more than a rum. It carries the name and spirit of Olaudah Equiano, a major figure in the fight for freedom. A freed slave turned writer, his memoirs contributed to the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade in 1807. By choosing to honor this remarkable man, the Equiano Rum Co Foundation reaffirms its commitment to freedom and equality, donating 5% of its profits to local projects honoring this mission.
The symphony of creation: a refined elaboration
The XO rum Equiano celebrates authenticity. It is the perfect embodiment of a rum aged in American white oak barrels that have contained bourbon and cognac. Each step of its creation reflects meticulous attention to detail. The tropical maturation within old barrels brings deep and unique flavors to this cuvée.

The complexity of Equiano makes it an ideal choice for bold cocktails. Imagine a revisited Old Fashioned, where the depth of Equiano rum meets the woody notes of an aromatic bitter.
