The property
Since 1942, the Domaine Rolet, located in Arbois in the heart of the Jura vineyard, perpetuates the family viticultural tradition by producing exceptional wines. Founded by Désiré Rolet, the estate was developed by his son Bernard, who expanded the vineyard and modernized the facilities. In 1989, Gilles Rolet took over the reins and continued the family legacy by creating wines known for their elegance and aromatic expression. In 2018, three families passionate about wine and the Jura region took over the estate, marking a new stage in its history
The vineyard
The Domaine Rolet vineyard extends over 66 hectares spread over the best terroirs of Arbois, Pupillin, Montigny-lès-Arsures and Abergement-le-Grand. Benefiting from a mosaic of exposures ranging from southeast to northwest, the vineyard ensures optimal ripening of the grapes and gives these Jura wines a great aromatic richness. The clay-limestone soils, blue marls and limestone scree bring minerality and complexity to the wines. The semi-continental climate, with cold winters and hot, dry summers, promotes the ripening of the grapes and allows for balanced and elegant wines. The estate practices sustainable agriculture, respectful of the environment and biodiversity.
The wine
Coeur de Chardonnay 2018 is a Crémant du Jura made from vineyards located in the AOC Arbois and Côtes du Jura.
Vinification and aging
Manual harvest before pressing in whole bunches. Selection of the best Head of cuvée juices. Second fermentation in bottle for the foam intake. Aging of 36 months minimum on slats. Dosage of 6 g/L.
