Description
Second wine of Pauillac and great vintage
Fleur de Pédesclaux is the second wine of the 5th classified growth of Pauillac, Château Pédesclaux, property ofthe Lorenzetti family since 2009 which is advised by the oenologist Éric Boissenot. On a soil of Garonne gravel on a limestone base, the property cultivates on its 49.7 hectares planted with 4 emblematic grape varieties of Bordeaux, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc.
The 2016 vintage will have been an exciting vintage. The capricious weather of the year with sustained and late rainfall at the beginning of the season and then a long drought will have put the nerves of the winemakers to the test. Nevertheless, the quality of the vintage proved to be exceptional from the moment the grapes arrived in the vat room. At Château Pédesclaux the harvest is so high quality that it is the first time that the 4 grape varieties of the property are blended into a great wine.
Fleur de Pédesclaux 2016 contains a large proportion of Merlot 67%, supplemented by 30% Cabernet Sauvignon and 3% Petit Verdot. It is a wine characterized by this atypical Médoc blend which gives it a soft texture and roundness. It is a wine of greediness, silky, even more charming on a 2016 vintage that reveals aromatic profiles of great freshness. Fleur de Pédesclaux 2016 offers another interpretation of the illustrious Pauillac appellation.Would you like to make up your own case?
