Description
The Imprint of Priorat in an Elegant and Complex Wine
As is true for all other Franck Massard wines, Huellas tells a story. In 2004, Franck Massard purchased from a taxi driver in Barcelona a small vineyard located near the village of El Molar, in the heart of Priorat, the flagship DOC appellation of Catalonia. Thus began the project with 500 bottles made from manual labor and named Huellas, meaning "imprints" in Spanish.
The grapes are today sourced from the cooler area of Poboleda, located 25km northwest of El Molar. The vines are planted in soils of licorella which lend a mineral character typical of the Priorat.
A blend of Carignan and Grenache, the Huellas 2014 by Franck Massard elegantly captures the essence of the Priorat terroir. With its complex aromatic bouquet, fresh fruit and spicy notes, the wine is meets the palate in a succession of flavours and sensations, unfolding a great persistence and fresh finish full of spice notes. Full-bodied and silky-smooth, the wine offers great depth and precision that will evolve over the years. A magnificent and perfectly accomplished cru of the Priorat.
