Recognised in 2009, the IGP Pyrénées-Orientales replaces the former name of "vins de pays des Pyrénées-Orientales."

Characterised by the typical Mediterranean climate of Roussillon, the IGP Pyrénées-Orientales is made up of a wide variety of soils, from sandy along the coast to clay and limestone on the hillsides.

The IGP Pyrénées-Orientales includes still red, white and rosé wines made from grape varieties such as Merlot, Syrah, Cinsault, Chardonnay and Grenache Blanc.
