The palate reveals a persistent freshness supported by a beautiful acidity throughout the tasting.
A lively and complex white wine from New Zealand
The property
Nestled on the foothills of the Wairau Valley in Marlborough, Clos Henri is a large New Zealand estate managed by a Sancerre monument: the Bourgeois Family, winemakers for 10 generations. Eager to reveal the most beautiful terroirs of pinot noir and sauvignon blanc, Rémi and Jean-Marie Bourgeois set out to explore the world to find the rare pearl. After a long search, it is in New Zealand that the family decides to settle, giving life to Clos Henri in 2000. The estate now represents 110 hectares of vineyards, with 42 hectares certified in organic viticulture.
The vineyard
Rich in its glacial lands, the estate has one of the most varied terroirs in the Marlborough valley. Marked by three distinct geological periods, the soil is made up of layers of wind-blown clays or rolled pebbles.
Vinification and aging
The Clos Henri Sauvignon Blanc 2022 undergoes gentle pressing before being placed in a stainless steel tank to start its fermentation. The wine is then aged on fine lees for three months.
The grape variety
Sauvignon blanc.
