Description
The structure and balance of a Saint-Émilion wine
The property
Château Bellefont-Belcier was bought in 1889 by the Faure family who, through innovation and hard work, made it one of the jewels of the Bordeaux region. In 1994, it became the property of BJL & Partenaires, which gave a new lease of life to this Grand Cru Classé by modernising the structures while respecting the different terroirs. Château Bellefont-Belcier has passed through several hands in recent years before joining the Vignobles K of Hong Kong's Peter Kwok in 2017.
The vineyard
Château Bellefont-Belcier 2022 is a Saint-Émilion wine from a 14-hectare vineyard, planted on a clay-limestone slope and Fronsadais molasse soils.
Winemaking and ageing
Fermentation is carried out without the addition of sulphur. Vinification in concrete vats. The wine is aged in barrels (30% new, 40% one and two wines) and in ovoid tuns (30%).
Blend
Château Bellefont-Belcier 2022 is a blend of Merlot (72%), Cabernet Franc (18%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (10%).
