Description
The concentration and harmony of a great vintage in Saint-Julien
On the Left Bank of Bordeaux, Château Beychevelle is one of the most sought-after crus of the Saint-Julien appellation. The dense and deep profile of each vintage, its consistency of excellence and its rich history have made it one of the key labels of Bordeaux.
2018 is one of the greatest vintages of the estate. Following a first half of the season with plenty of humidity, the last 4 months were magnificent, with a lot of sunshine, heat and dryness. The significant water reserves of spring helped create optimal conditions, allowing for the production of concentrated and fresh wines.
The Château Beychevelle 2018 is made from a blend of 50% Merlot, 41% Cabernet Sauvignon, 6% Petit Verdot and 3% Cabernet Franc. This Saint-Julien property sums up the 2018 vintage in two words: harmony and concentration. These two characteristics, most representative of Château Beychevelle 2018, translated into a perfect balance rarely achieved. Boasting an intense aromatic profile, this wine is dominated by flavours of ripe red and black fruits. Its harmonious palate, both concentrated and fresh, offers a silky tannic structure, a very expressive attack and a length that stretches without force. All the highlights are there to make the Château Beychevelle 2018 one of the great vintages of this Saint-Julien property and a fantastic wine to age.
