The balance and elegance of a great Saint-Julien red wine
The estate
Superb estate with magnificent gardens, the Château Beychevelle is among the most prestigious crus of the Saint-Julien appellation, located on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. More radiant than ever, the estate benefits from a new cutting-edge winery designed by architect Arnaud Boulain. Exceptional wines, the style of Château Beychevelle is defined by the regularity of its excellent quality crus. Powerful, fleshy, structured, they elegantly express the finesse of the great Saint-Julien terroir. Made for ageing, the wines of Château Beychevelle evolve superbly over the years.
The vineyard
This Château Beychevelle 2023 is a Saint-Julien wine from a 90-hectare vineyard. The specificity of this terroir lies in its magnificent Garonne gravel hills and its immediate proximity to the Gironde estuary, a climatic regulator and protector.
The vintage
Starting with a frost episode on April 5th without consequences for the vineyard thanks to the vigilance of the teams, the spring is marked by warm and dry conditions. Despite regular humidity and storms, leading to high sanitary pressure controlled by good phytosanitary management, the summer precedes a September whose heat and sunshine ensure optimal ripening of the grapes. Among the longest in the estate's history (17 days), the harvest reveals healthy and ideally ripe berries.
Vinification and ageing
Following the harvest, a rigorous selection is made to retain only the most qualitative lots. The ageing is carried out in barrels (of which 70% are new).
Blend
Cabernet Sauvignon (61%)
Merlot (35%)
Petit Verdot (4%).
