Owned by the Guillement family since 1932, Château Boyd-Cantenac is one of the most consistent wines of the Margaux appellation. This 3rd Classified Growth of 1855 seduces those who love the fine wines of Margaux with its unique style, a testament to the estate’s unique know-how. Endowed with great ageing potential, the wines present an aromatic complexity specific to Margaux, while the palate is suave and refined.

The vintage
The 2019 vintage will be remembered for its significant climatic contrasts. After a cool start to the season, the summer of 2019 brought scorching temperatures. From late August to late September, the fruit ripened fully, thanks to excellent climatic conditions. The harvest began on September 25 and ended on October 18.

The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (68%), Merlot (21%), Petit Verdot (8%), Cabernet Franc (3%).

Tasting
Tasted in May 2020, the Château Boyd Cantenac 2019 displays a dense colour. Complex and intense, the nose shows a very Cabernet Sauvignon profile. Like its colour, the aromatic bouquet is also quite dense and seduces the nose with its delicious fruit and delicate touches of oak. With great finesse, the palate gradually reveals a supple and slender texture, which carries an explosion of flavours. The finish lingers for a very long time, offering a great elegance and nobility.
