Description
The fullness and fruity framework of a Beaujolais red wine
The estate
Located in Odenas, in the Beaujolais region, Château de La Chaize has a rich history dating back to the 17th century. The 150-hectare vineyard, with its unique mosaic of soils, produces great Brouilly, Côte de Brouilly and Fleurie wines that are appreciated in the United States and at the English Court. In 2017, Christophe Gruy, an industrialist from Lyon, acquired the estate with the ambition of making it one of the most prestigious references among the great Beaujolais wines.
The vineyard
Lieu-dit "La Chaize" Monopole 2020 from Château de la Chaize is a Côte de Brouilly wine that stems from a steep plot in which the Clos de La Chaize is planted – a prestigious terroir protected by walls that date back to 1676. Located behind the château, this hillside vineyard rests on porphyroid granite soil.
