A great Pauillac wine seductive in freshness and elegance

    The property

Located in the heart of the Pauillac appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, the Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste took its current form in 1855, although it was built as early as the 16th century. The vineyard property was marked by the passage of Raymond Dupin from 1930 to 1978. He then sold the property to the Borie family in 1978 who have since carried out numerous renovations. Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is today one of the most representative crus of the Pauillac appellation.

    The vineyard

Château Grand-Puy-Lacoste is a Pauillac wine from a 90-hectare vineyard, 60 of which are planted in one piece. The vines, averaging 38 years old, are planted on deep gravelly ridges.

    The vintage

The 2024 vintage bears witness to the resilience of the teams in the face of atypical weather, marked by a mild winter and a hot, dry summer, conducive to a beautiful maturity of the grapes. Despite some shatter and millerandage on the Cabernet Sauvignon, yields are satisfactory (38 hl/ha) and the quality is there. The manual harvests, carried out rigorously from September 25 to October 8, allowed for careful selection. Gentle vinifications revealed an elegant, tasty and accessible wine, enhanced by a measured barrel aging.

    Vinification and aging

Aging in French oak barrels (70% new).

    Blend

Cabernet sauvignon (78%) and merlot (22%).
