Description
2005 Pessac-Leognan Cru Classe
La Mission Haut-Brion wines are produced in the Pessac-Leognan appellation, which is located in Graves, a sub region of Bordeaux. The vineyard soils are mainly composed of sand and clay, but also contain gravel.
The 2005 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion displays a very dense and very dark hue. The nose reveals great precision with superb aromas of red fruits, earth, smoky, and liquorice. The palate offers pleasant concentration and sweetness. This wine is generous, with sublime silky tannins: extremely well-balanced. The Cru Classe from Graves shows extraordinary elegance and beauty: should drink well now or in several decades.
