Description
A delicious red wine from Saint-Emilion Grand Cru
A Grand Cru Classé from the Saint-Emilion Grand Cru appellation, Château Laroze benefits from a vineyard with a total area of 27 hectares. The vines are planted on a soil composed of silicas laid upon a layer of clay. The wine is aged in barrels (65% in new barrels) over an average time period of 16 months. The 2016 vintage blends 60% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
After a cool and humid winter and spring, the summer was characterized by plenty of heat and severe drought, with significant water stress between mid-August and mid-September. The showers of September 13th, 23rd and 30th, as well as those of October 1st, revived the ripening process of the grapes. This process was slow and quite delayed, but the great climatic conditions of the end of the season resulted in grapes of a very good quality.
Château Laroze 2016 is a rich and tasty wine, revealing elegance and deliciousness.
