The property

In the 18th century, the Château Lynch-Moussas became, like the Château Lynch-Bages, the property of the famous Lynch family of Irish origin. The Castéja family, owners since the 16th century in Pauillac, acquired this château at the beginning of the 20th century.

The vineyard

The Château Lynch-Moussas is a Pauillac wine from a 62-hectare vineyard.

The vintage

The winter was wet, alternating between mild and cool temperatures. If the bud break began on April 2, the vineyard was impacted by the spring frost of April 7 and 8. The warm and dry conditions of May, favoring good flowering, were offset by the coolness and heavy rainfall in June. The rigor of the teams allowed to preserve the health of the vineyard. July and August, marked by variable and cool weather, gave way to a wet early September and a sunny and dry October. The harvest was carried out parcel by parcel at optimal maturity in order to reveal the quality, the tannic structure and the freshness of the berries.

Vinification and aging

Aging exclusively in French oak barrels (60% new and 40% of one wine).

Blend

Cabernet Sauvignon (72%)
Merlot (28%).
