Description
The richness of an exceptional Margaux
The 2009 prodigious vintage reveals Château Palmer at the top of its game in all its splendour. Vintage after vintage, this Third Grand Cru Classé on the Left Bank in Bordeaux has established itself as a real star of the Margaux appellation.
It was with high hopes to predict a great vintage with perfectly ripe grapes that showed great aromatic richness while displaying a lovely freshness. The extreme attention paid to the selection of the vineyard plots, the precision of the vinification and the perfect control over the complex blending allowed each plot to reveal all the authenticity of the exceptional terroir that gave birth to the grapes.
From a sunny and generous vintage, the Château Palmer 2009 is the quintessence of what Margaux is able to offer. Superbly aromatic and concentrated, the bouquet overflows with a flood of ripe fruit with black fruit notes. In keeping with the style of the estate, Merlot (52%) caresses the palate with its roundness and silkiness and gives the palate a tactile sensation. At the same time, Cabernet Sauvignon (41%) provides an elegant tannic structure that gives perfect balance with well- integrated and ample tannins. Petit Verdot (7%) brings a touch of spice and finesse to this perfectly executed blend. The mouthfeel extends all the way to the finish, which is persistent and distinguished.
The Château Palmer 2009 becomes one of the legendary vintages from the estate with its exceptional class, precision and finesse.
