The estate
A Third Classified Growth in the Official Classification of 1855, Château Palmer is a real star of the Margaux appellation, on the left bank of the Bordeaux region. With biodynamic viticulture launched in 2009, Château Palmer has chosen to convert the entire vineyard in 2014. Having built its legacy on vintages that have become legendary, Château Palmer continues to write its history under the direction of the talented Thomas Duroux.

The vineyard
Upon an exceptional terroir in the immediate vicinity of the Gironde estuary, Château Palmer has fairly unusual grape varieties for a Médoc estate, with Merlot given pride of place (47%), supplemented by an equal portion (47%) Cabernet Sauvignon and 6% Petit Verdot.

The vintage
The 2019 vintage brilliantly confirms the excellent work carried out by the technical teams of the estate. Beginning with the Merlot on September 19 and ending on October 11, the harvest at Château Palmer yielded sublime fruit. The Merlot displayed a beautiful exuberance while the Cabernet Sauvignon and the Petit Verdot showed exceptional finesse. Ultimately, 2019 resulted in wines that are faithful to the terroir of Château Palmer, wines that will once again mark the history of the estate's great vintages.

The blend
Merlot (43%), cabernet sauvignon (53%), petit verdot (4%).

The tasting
Tasted as a Wine Future, the Château Palmer 2019 displays in the glass a deep purple colour. The aromatic bouquet is captivating, springing from the glass with notes of black fruits and spices. The palate reveals this silky and almost carnal texture, faithful to the style of Château Palmer. The tannic structure presents itself on the palate with a delicate character, remarkable in both depth and relief. Already, the complexity, structure and richness of Château Palmer suggest the birth of a vintage that is ready to endure the decades ahead, evolving beautifully and embodying without artifice and with great brilliance the identity of this exceptional Margaux terroir.
