A Saint-Émilion wine that delights with finesse and complexity

The estate

Château Puyblanquet, owned by the Malet Roquefort family between 1819 and 1959, returned to the family fold in 2020, more than 60 years after the transfer.

The vineyard

Château Puyblanquet oversees a 19-hectare single vineyard on Bordeaux’s Right Bank. The vines are planted on a limestone plateau as well as on clay-limestone slopes, giving rise to an elegant and complex Saint-Émilion wine. The wines of Château Puyblanquet are vinified by the teams of Château La Gaffelière (Saint-Émilion), also owned by the Malet Roquefort family.

Winemaking and ageing

Densimetric sorting before vinification by plot in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation accompanied by pumping over and punching down, followed by malolactic fermentation in vats. The wine is aged for 12 months in barrels (50% new).

Blend

Château Puyblanquet 2020 is a blend of Merlot (80%) and Cabernet Franc (20%).
