Description
A refined and expressive wine from Languedoc – Pic Saint Loup
The estate
It is in the heart of the prestigious Pic Saint Loup appellation that the Clos Marie was established, founded in 1995 by Françoise Julien and her husband, the winemaker Christophe Peyrus. The name of the estate pays a touching tribute to Marie, Françoise's grandmother, who once cultivated a few hectares of vines, the grapes of which were delivered to the local cooperative.
From the takeover of the estate, the couple undertook significant restructuring work with the aim of revealing all the complexity and nobility of the Languedoc terroirs. Today, Clos Marie carefully cultivates a vineyard of about 22 hectares.
The vineyard
Made from vines located mid-slope, the Simon cuvée comes from typical clay-limestone soils of the Pic Saint Loup, offering the grapes a beautiful concentration and a pure expression of the terroir.
Blend
This Simon 2019 from Clos Marie is the result of a blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre.
