The property

The Champagne Moët & Chandon House was founded in 1743 by Claude Moët, a visionary wine merchant, who quickly made it a reference among European courts. A few years later his grandson, Jean-Rémy Moët, developed the aura of the house internationally.

Jean-Rémy Moët notably created the emblematic cuvée of the house, the Moët Imperial, in honor of Emperor Napoleon Bonaparte, who visited the domain several times and is said to have invented with his troops the gesture of sabering Moët & Chandon champagne bottles to celebrate a victory.

Owned by the LVMH group since 1987, the house produces, from a rigorous selection of Champagne terroirs, singular cuvées recognized beyond borders for their quality and seductive personality.

The wine

The Ice Imperial cuvée from Moët & Chandon was specially created to be served with ice cubes. The dosage of this champagne is 45 g/liter.

Blend

The pinot noir (40 to 50%) combines aromatic intensity with a beautiful structure, the pinot meunier (30 to 40%) seduces with its roundness, amplitude and richness. Then the chardonnay (10 to 20%) brings acidity, precision as well as refreshing notes in the finish. This cuvée is also available in magnum and jeroboam format.

Tasting

Color
The color is a beautiful deep gold, adorned with amber reflections.

Nose
This champagne immediately surprises with the intensity of its aromas. A remarkably rich bouquet allows the scents of stone fruits and tropical fruits to express themselves in turn, highlighted by notes of riper fruits and light spices. Surprising and delicate fragrances of red fruits and vegetal notes then intertwine.

Palate
Round and ample, the palate intensely expresses the richness of surprisingly fruity and sweet flavors. The finish is marked by a great freshness, enhanced by a tasty acidity and delicious notes of grapefruit, quinine and ginger.
