The estate
Established in 1875, Château Maucaillou boasts one of the oldest vineyards in the Moulis appellation on the left bank of Bordeaux.

The vineyard
Château Maucaillou is surrounded by a large 66-hectare vineyard planted in soils composed of Guntz gravel and clay-limestone soil.

The winemaking and ageing
The manual and mechanical harvests were carried out between September 27 and October 9. Vinification by grape variety. Traditional vinification with pre-fermentation maceration at a temperature of 22 ° C. Fermentation in temperature-controlled vats, racking after 3 weeks. Ageing for 16 months in oak barrels.

The blend
Cabernet sauvignon (52%), merlot (41%), petit verdot (7%).
