Description
The majesty of a Pauillac, a portrait of refinement
The Château Mouton Rothschild 2009 is from a prodigious vintage and is among the Pauillac wines that will keep the legend of Bordeaux alive in this new millennium.
The Château Mouton Rothschild 2009 catches the eye with its dense, deep, magnetic ink colour. The aromatic bouquet defines itself with complexity that constantly evolves over time that allows the discovery of other aromas. It reveals rich blackcurrant and blackberry aromas that signify the role of the Left Bank’s flagship black grape variety, Cabernet Sauvignon (88%). Tobacco and dried herb notes gradually appear, along with the typical fresh cedar notes from the Pauillac terroir.
On the palate, the Château Mouton Rothschild 2009 expresses the quintessence of the Pauillac appellation. The frank attack wraps the palate in intense flavours that demonstrate the perfect ripeness of the fruit. The roundness from Merlot (12%) gives a refined, delicate texture which results in a perfect harmony of silkiness and finesse. All this is highlighted within a structure of fine-grained, melted tannins. The opulent, lengthy finish leaves a beautiful impression with the unmistakable signature of Mouton Rothschild. A simply beautiful Pauillac.
