The property

In 1896, Marcel Ott, a young agricultural engineer from Alsace, chose to settle in Provence, convinced of the potential of this vineyard then ravaged by phylloxera. More than a century later, the Ott family perpetuates this vision through a range of rosé, red and white wines from three exceptional domains: Château de Selle, Clos Mireille and Château Romassan. In the 1930s, René Ott created an emblematic bottle, immediately recognizable, which embodies the excellence and identity of the Domaines Ott*. Since 2004, the family house has been part of the prestigious Louis Roederer house.

The vineyard

Château de Selle was the very first domain acquired by Marcel Ott, in 1912. Located near Draguignan, it benefits from a remarkable terroir: high limestone hills, exposed to the sun, where the stony and nutrient-poor soils naturally limit yields, thus concentrating the quality in each berry to give birth to an essential Côtes de Provence wine.
