Intense and complex, the nose opens with notes of ripe citrus, white flowers and white-fleshed fruits, enhanced by a subtle mineral touch.

The aromatic finesse and elegance of a dry white Bordeaux wine from a great Sauternes terroir

The property

Château Guiraud, 1st grand cru classé of Sauternes in 1855, is one of the must-see properties in the south of the Bordeaux region. This great name of the Sauternes appellation has been carried since its creation by a pioneering spirit. Since 1996, the estate has been committed to biodiversity and obtained Organic Agriculture certification in 2011.

The vineyard

On these 85 hectares of sandy gravels and clayey gravels, the vines of sauvignon blanc and sémillon are cultivated with the utmost care. The vineyard dedicated to the production of the G de Château Guiraud 2024 covers an area of 42 hectares with vines averaging 25 years old.

The wine

The G de Château Guiraud is produced under the Bordeaux Dry Whites appellation.

The vintage

2024 was marked by great climatic variability, requiring increased vigilance in the vineyard. After a favorable start to the year, regular rainfall and high temperatures promoted vine growth but also disease pressure. The summer, alternating dry and sunny periods, rebalanced the maturation of the grapes. The harvest, carried out between September 2 and 24, was hastened by intense rains promoting the development of noble rot. Despite these challenges, the quality remains excellent, making 2024 a very beautiful vintage for white wines.

Vinification and aging

Fermentation in barrels of a wine from Château Guiraud (50%) and in stainless steel tanks (50%). Malolactic fermentation is carried out on certain batches only (less than 5%). Aging on fine lees, accompanied by regular stirring, is carried out in barrels of a wine from Château Guiraud and stainless steel tank (about 50% per container).

Blend

Sauvignon blanc (70%).
Sémillon (30%).
