Description
The typicity of a Languedoc red wine
The estate
A precursor of the wine revival in the Terrases du Larzac, Oliver Jullien is considered one of the greatest winegrowers of the Languedoc. At the age of 20, Olivier Jullien bought his first hectare of vines and founded Mas Jullien with Jean-Philippe Granier in 1985. The Mas Jullien estate covers some 20 hectares and produces wines in the Côteaux du Languedoc and Terrasses du Larzac appellations.
Vinified and aged with great precision, the Mas Jullien wines embody the quintessence of the great wines of the Languedoc.
The vineyard
In Occitan, the name of the hamlet of Trescol means "the pass that crosses." Trescol 2020 from Mas Jullien is an IGP Aveyron wine, made from vines that are 35 years old on average, grown organically at an altitude of 400 metres on a sloping plot in the middle of the hillside. With its western exposure, this vineyard benefits from good sunshine, humidity from the nearby river and a microclimate marked by good day/night temperature variations.
Blend
Trescol 2020 from Mas Jullien is a blend of Gamay, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.
