An emblematic Soave Classico of Venetian tradition
The estate
The Pieropan Estate, founded in 1880 by Leonildo Pieropan, embodies the legacy of a great winemaking family in the heart of the medieval village of Soave, in Veneto. For four generations, it has established itself as an essential reference for the region's great wines.
The vineyard
The Soave Classico comes from the hills of Soave, at an altitude varying between 50 and 300 meters. The vines, aged 6 to 60 years, are planted on volcanic and limestone soils, giving the wine its characteristic minerality. Facing west, they are managed according to two pruning systems: the Guyot (4800 vines/ha) and the Veronese Pergola (3000 vines/ha). The entire vineyard benefits from organic certification.
Vinification and aging
The vinification of the Soave Classico 2024 begins with staggered manual harvests: the trebbiano di Soave is harvested in mid-September, followed by the garganega in October. After destemming and gentle pneumatic pressing, fermentation takes place at low temperature (14-18°C) in concrete tanks lined with glass. The wine is then aged on fine lees for 5 to 9 months before being bottled, where it rests for at least one month before marketing.
Blend
The Soave Classico is composed mainly of garganega (85-90%), complemented by trebbiano di Soave (10-15%), two emblematic grape varieties of the Veneto region.
