The vivacity and aromatic purity of a great Chilean chardonnay

The property

Founded in 1880 by Don Domingo Concha, Viña Santa Rita is a pillar of Chilean viticulture, located in the Maipo Valley, nicknamed the "Bordeaux of Chile". With over 3,800 hectares of vineyards, it stands out for its commitment to sustainability, certified Certified Sustainable Wine of Chile. Oscar Salas and Sebastien Labbe lead the production, highlighting award-winning wines like the Casa Real. The historical heritage, linked to Chile's independence, and innovation, with lighter bottles, reinforce its uniqueness.

The vineyard

The Floresta Chardonnay comes from the Limarí Valley, located 28 km from the Pacific Ocean. This exceptional Chilean terroir benefits from a climate strongly influenced by the coastal mountains and the ocean, with morning fogs that dissipate at midday and cool winds that temper the afternoon temperatures.

Vinification and aging

Nighttime manual harvest to preserve their freshness. The whole clusters are pressed according to a long cycle, allowing a separation of the juices according to their quality and aromas. Spontaneous fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 18 and 20°C. The wine is then aged on lees with periodic stirring for 3 to 5 months, with 50% of the wine undergoing malolactic fermentation. Aging continues for 10 months in French oak barrels, followed by an additional 2 months in stainless steel tanks before bottling.
