The exceptional terroir of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG in northern Italy is where the world's most popular sparkling wine is produced.

The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG denomination covers 15 municipalities in the province of Treviso, in the Veneto region. The appellation has very strict criteria with a yield limit of 15 tonnes per hectare. Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG is made from the emblematic Gléra grape (85% minimum in the blend). Unlike the famous Franciacorta in Lombardy, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore is made using the Martinotti-Charmat method.

An exceptional sparkling wine, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG comes in three different versions, depending on the amount of residual sugar. There is the Brut; the dry version of Prosecco with less than 12 grams per litre. The lively acidity of Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Brut makes it a perfect match for aperitifs, shellfish and seafood. With its misleading name, Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Extra Dry has between 12 and 17 grams of sugar per litre. Its aromatic freshness and sweetness on the palate are a perfect match for summer salads and sweet and sour dishes. The Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG Dry has between 17 and 32 grams per litre. This makes it the ideal companion for desserts and fruit pastries.
