The richness and elegance of a Pommard 1er Cru wine
The property
The history of the estate dates back to the mid-19th century, a period during which the Burgundian family Nié-Vantey expanded its estate by acquiring plots to complement the already existing vineyard. Heir to this historical and family heritage, Armand Heitz took over the estate in 2011. This passionate oenologist renamed the estate and decided to expand it in order to develop a wider range of appellations.
The vineyard
The Armand Heitz estate now oversees a prestigious vineyard that, from Beaune to Chassagne-Montrachet, produces Burgundy wines expressing their terroir with a pure and balanced style.
The wine
This Pommard 1er Cru Rugiens 2021 by Armand Heitz is made from a 0.4318 hectare vineyard with vines planted between 1974, 1975 and 1994. This terroir extends from a slightly sloping area, rich in iron oxide, to a hillside with light and clear stones.

Vinification 100% in whole clusters. Aging for 14 months in barrels, of which 20 to 40% are new.
