A full-bodied and delicate Fixin red wine

The estate

Château de Marsannay, located in the heart of the Côte-de-Nuits appellation, covers an area of 34 hectares. Varying between 250 and 280 metres in altitude from the south of Dijon to the commune of Vosne-Romanée, the terroir of the estate expresses through its mosaic of plots all the nuances and distinctive features of these great Burgundy terrains.

The vineyard

As the first destination on the Burgundy Grand Crus route, the Château de Marsannay oversees a 40-hectare vineyard in the Côte de Nuits and Côte de Beaune, two prestigious Burgundy appellations.

The wine

This 2022 from Château de Marsannay is a wine from Fixin Village produced from a 0.25-hectare vineyard. Facing south at the bottom of the hill, the vines rest on a clay-limestone soil mixed with cone scree and clayey limestone.

Winemaking and ageing

The grapes were harvested by hand then sorted meticulously on the table. Following complete destemming, the grapes were put in steel vats. Alcoholic fermentation was accompanied by punching down and pumping over to advance extraction. Ageing for 13 months in barrels (25% new), completed with a further 3 months of ageing in the mass.

Nose
The nose mingles notes of violet with fruity scents like blackcurrant or morello cherry.

Round from the attack, the palate gives off a delicate texture and a beautiful creaminess.

This wine can be enjoyed today, and can be laid down until 2032.

For the best tasting, serve between 15 and 17°C.
