Description

A red wine with character from Saint-Émilion

Château Laroze, Grand Cru Classé of Saint-Émilion since 1955, is the property of the Meslin family, whose ancestors were already present as winemakers in Saint-Emilion at the beginning of the 17th century. The 27-hectare property is situated at the foot of a hill on soils of silica and clay, contributing to silky and generously textured wines.

The 2018 vintage from Château Laroze is composed of 65% Merlot, 27.5% Cabernet Franc and 7.5% Cabernet Sauvignon. After a manual harvest and winemaking in inert containers, the wines are aged in barrels (65% of which are new) for 16 months.

The superb 2018 vintage is characterised by aromas of black fruit (particularly blueberry) and very tasty red fruit, enhanced by floral fragrances, reminiscent of violet. Its consistent palate is structured by firm tannins, which provide a framework that supports the aromatic power of this wine into a very persistent finish. Everything is there for an elegant, generous wine with tremendous potential for age.
