Description
A Pure and Voluptuous Pomerol Wine with Plenty of Class
Located in the heart of the prestigious Pomerol appellation, Château Saint Pierre produces some of the greatest wines of the Right Bank in the Bordeaux region.
Château Saint Pierre has a unique characteristic: it is located directly in the village of Pomerol, on the highest terrace of the plateau, sharing its exceptional terroir with the greatest Crus of the appellation, among them Le Pin, Clinet, Trotanoy and Vieux Château Certan.
A beautiful reference of the appellation, the new team at Château Saint Pierre has for almost 5 years now worked with famous oenologist consultant Stéphane Derenoncourt and Frédéric Massie to significantly boost the quality of this wine.
Through a vineyard that was spared by the harsh spring frost, the Château Saint Pierre 2017 highlights the excellent quality of this Pomerol cru. The First Wine of Château Saint Pierre, this 100% Merlot reflects the unique identity of Pomerol by brilliantly revealing the diversity of its terroirs.
With its dark, almost black, purple colour, the Château Saint-Pierre 2017 is already displaying the shades of a great Pomerol. With its purity of fruit, along with its delicate fragrances of violet and lilac, this wine springs from the glass, vibrant and full of energy, revealing fresh aromas of small black fruits, enhanced with elegant spicy notes and liquorice. Voluptuous and very fresh, the palate presents a superb touch so typical of Pomerol: a silky texture underlined by the finesse of soft tannins revealing a certain minerality and notes of graphite. With its beautiful length and balance, the Château Saint Pierre 2017 is truly a wine of class, one of the greats from the appellation of Pomerol.
