Description
A supple and soft red wine from Haut-Médoc
A 5th Classified Growth of 1855 located in the Haut-Médoc appellation, château de Camensac benefits from a vineyard with a total area of 75 hectares. Aged 35 years on average, the vines are planted on a terroir composed of thick Gunzian soils of the Quaternary and fine Villafranchian gravel of the Tertiary. The wine is aged in French oak barrels. The 2009 vintage blends 55% Cabernet Sauvignon and 45% Merlot.
Château de Camensac 2009 has a pretty and bright dark red colour. The nose develops fragrances of red fruits, along with floral notes. The attack is straightforward, coating the palate, combining suppleness and softness. The tannins are polished, tight and velvety. The density of the tannins balances out the acidity of the wine. The finish offers persistent aromas and smoothness. To be consumed before 2030.
