A harmonious and refined red Grand Vin from Haut-Médoc

The 14^th vintage of the Merlaut family, 2018 marks a fantastic year for Château de Camensac, which continues to produce beautiful wines of unique character.

The contrasting climatic conditions of 2018 required constant attention from the estate’s technical teams. Very well situated in the Haut-Médoc appellation, on the left bank of Bordeaux, Château de Camensac experienced only a light brush with mildew. The harvest began with Merlot on September 24, followed by Cabernet Sauvignon. It ended on October 10, yielding exceptional fruit.

Made from a blend containing equal parts Merlot (50%) and Cabernet Sauvignon (50%), the Château de Camensac 2018 has a beautiful, bright and dark red colour. The aromatic bouquet opens with notes of red berries, while swirling the glass eventually reveals floral fragrances and subtle woody notes. The frankness of the attack quickly reveals the refined structure of the tannins, which coat the palate and are very flexible. The mid-palate expresses delicate fruity and floral flavours. Harmonious and smooth, the length of the finish is prolonged with delicious flavors, evoking a jam of red berries. A perfectly executed Chateau de Camensac.
