The property
Built under the reign of Napoleon III, the Château Minuty was purchased in 1936 by Gabriel Farnet who undertook to restore its former splendor. Thus, in 1955, the property entered the small circle of the 23 Classified Growths among the wines of Côtes de Provence. Then, the property crossed paths with Monique and Etienne Matton who, thanks to their dedicated work, greatly contributed to establishing the reputation of Château Minuty on the finest tables of the French Riviera. Today, brothers Jean-Etienne and François Matton are proudly carrying on the legacy while infusing the estate with a modern spirit.
The vineyard
The 160 hectares of vineyards of the Minuty estate cover the Saint-Tropez peninsula. On the slopes of Gassin and Ramatuelle, this Côtes de Provence vineyard benefits from a Mediterranean climate. The sea breezes from the coast preserve the health of the grapes throughout the year. The diversity of soils, mixing schist and limestone, offers each grape variety of the House an ideal terroir to fully flourish. The vines are cultivated according to the principles of sustainable viticulture, in a preserved environment where the richness of the ecosystem promotes their development.
Vinification and aging
Pressing and cold fermentation, no malolactic fermentation. Direct pressing, rigorous clarification and low temperature fermentation.
