Description
An exceptional Speyside single malt, the result of three decades of maturation
Linkwood, a historic distillery in Speyside
Founded in 1821 by Peter Brown near Elgin in Speyside, the Linkwood distillery has been producing whisky since 1825. After being owned by the Brown family until the late 60s, it was rebuilt in 1872 and then integrated into Scottish Malt Distillers in 1933, before joining the Diageo group. Linkwood stands out for its traditional production methods, including extended fermentation and pear-shaped stills that promote increased contact with copper. This discreet distillery is mainly known for its contribution to prestigious blends like Johnnie Walker, but its rare single malt bottlings reveal a whisky of remarkable elegance, highly prized by connoisseurs.
An exceptional bottling selected by Elixir Distillers
This 31-year-old Linkwood is part of the prestigious Director's Special collection from Elixir Distillers, a series reserved for Scottish whiskies deemed truly exceptional by the house director. Limited to only 140 bottles worldwide, this bottling represents the very essence of what the Linkwood distillery can offer after three decades of maturation.
A rigorous selection
Each cask selected for the Director's Special range meets strict excellence criteria. This 31-year-old Linkwood was chosen for its remarkable aromatic profile, dominated by delicious notes of apple crumble, Christmas cookies, and milk chocolate.
A presentation that matches
Presented in an elegant wooden box that underlines its precious character, this whisky is bottled at its natural strength of 49.6%, without cold filtration and without added coloring. This minimalist approach respects the integrity of the whisky and allows for a full appreciation of the work of time and the influence of the cask on this exceptional Speyside nectar.
